Contract talks between Alouette and bus drivers may impact students
Local student transportation officials are advising of a potential disruption for over 1,900 students who ride school buses operated by Alouette Bus Lines.
In a letter to parents, Nipissing Parry Sound Student Transportation Services says route suspensions may happen as early as Monday, Feb. 23.
It all has to do with contract talks between the bus line and its drivers.
67 routes, including 50 in West Nipissing, seven each in North Bay and Redbridge and three in Parry Sound would be impacted.
While officials say they’re working on possible contingency plans, families would be responsible for making alternative arrangements for their children to travel to and from school.
They add the suspension of services will be reflected as cancellations in BusPlanner for those subscribed to bus status alerts.
