Jordy Carr appointed mayor in Callander
Callander has a new mayor.
Deputy Mayor Jordy Carr has been appointed to finish out the term at the helm of council.
In a statement, she says she’s taking on the role because she ‘felt it was her responsibility to step forward when continuity and steady leadership are needed’.
Council also voted Tuesday night to open an application process to fill two vacant Councillor seats.
This all stems from the December resignations of former Mayor Robb Noon and former councillor Irene Smit.
The next municipal election is coming up in October.
