$10,000 donation supporting the North Bay Food Bank
The North Bay Food Bank hamper program is getting a financial boost.
Officials are thanking TC Energy Canada for a $10,000 donation from their Community Investment Program.
The Food Bank says the funding will have a meaningful impact by helping them continue to provide individuals and families facing food insecurity with access to nutritious food and essential grocery items during times of need.
Meantime, September is Hunger Action Month, and a couple of events are coming up on Sept. 12 to combat hunger.
It’s Baseball Day in the Bay, with a food drive during the baseball tournament, with teams challenging each other to bring in the most non-perishable or cash donations for the food bank.
That night, the Blue Jean Ball takes place from 6-11:30 pm at the Elks Lodge.
It features casual wear, music by Roadhouse and catering by Churchills, in support of the North Bay Food Bank.
