$25,000 lotto win for Verner resident

Verner’s Maxine Gareau is celebrating a $25,000 win with OLG’s new WATCH ‘N WIN game, POWERBUCKS WHEEL OF FORTUNE RUBY RICHES.

The primary health care professional tried the game out after hearing about it from her daughter, and after watching the prize wheel spin on the customer display screen, it landed on the $25,000 prize.

“I was overjoyed and speechless at first. Then I began shouting with excitement,” says the mom of three. “In that moment, it felt like time slowed down. The workers at the store said they had never seen a big win like this before.”

She plans to save for the future, take care of her kids, and maybe take a trip this fall.

The winning ticket was purchased at S & R Variety on John Street in Sturgeon Falls.
