25 Years of Community Generosity: North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation Celebrates a Milestone of Impact and Gratitude
This week the North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) Foundation is marking 25 years of remarkable generosity and community impact. From October 7th to 11th, the Foundation celebrated the incredible role supporters have played in making exceptional healthcare possible, close to home. The weeklong tribute culminated with a special a cake-cutting ceremony at NBRHC attended by Foundation Trustees, volunteers, hospital staff and community supporters.
“We couldn’t be prouder of what our community has achieved together," says Tammy Morison, NBRHC Foundation President & CEO. "This celebration isn’t just about the past 25 years—it’s about the future we’re building together. The contributions of our community through philanthropy will continue to shape the next generations of care at NBRHC."
Founded in 1999, the Foundation’s first task was to assist our community in raising funds for the construction of the new hospital. Since that time, the Foundation has been instrumental in every step of our community’s healthcare journey—most notably the opening of our beautiful state-of-the-art hospital building in 2011. Over the past 25 years, the Foundation has continued to raise critical funds for life-saving medical equipment, ensuring that the hospital remains at the forefront of patient care.
Morison says the dedication and tireless work of volunteers have been an important factor in advancing healthcare in our region. “Our volunteers support fundraising events, provide leadership on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and campaigns, and have brought our mission to life through their commitment to the hospital’s future.”
Fundraising events like Our Hospital Walk/Run, the Papa Joe Memorial Ride for Cancer, Osprey Links Charity Golf Gala, & Chat4Chad have helped to raise millions of dollars for critical hospital initiatives.
However, the story of our hospital is best viewed through the eyes of our patients. “Many lives have been touched and saved through the availability of new technologies and services made possible through community support,” Morison shared. “The voices of these patients reinforced the impact of past donations while looking forward to future needs.”
