$300,000 for area public health programs and services
Public health programs and services in the area are getting a one-time provincial funding boost of just over $300,000.
Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing, the money for the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit.
He says it will enable the health unit to continue to provide healthy living programs and information about disease prevention.
“The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit provides key knowledge and takes preventative measures to help our community remain a safe, happy, and healthy place to live,” says Fedeli. “Ontario is ensuring that people have health care services available in Nipissing, to seek and receive the care they need, when they need it.”
Along with offering information about healthy lifestyle issues, Public Health Units also provide several services, including vaccinations, seasonal flu clinics, Healthy Smiles Ontario, and more.
