35 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region

The province says six new wildland fires were confirmed in the Northeast Region by early Wednesday evening.

That includes the 12th fire of the season in the North Bay District.  The blaze is 0.2 hectares in size and is located on the south side of Diamond Lake about 36 kilometres northwest of Temagami.  It is not yet under control.

There are 35 active wildfires across the northeast.  The fire hazard in our area is low to moderate.
