3X3 Hoop dreams on the Hardwood
High-energy 3×3 basketball is once again being showcased in the city.
The 2nd edition of the Baycity Ballers’ 3×3 Tournament hits the hardwood at the Canadore College main campus on Saturday and Sunday.
Officials say the FIBA-endorsed event is being held in partnership with 3×3 Basketball Canada.
The elite men’s division plays on Saturday and includes a dunk show (1 pm).
The women’s open and rec men’s division play on Sunday, which also includes a 3-point contest.
“The Baycity Ballers 3×3 Tournament is a fantastic opportunity for fans to see amazing talent and experience the excitement of 3×3 basketball live,” says Amit Maharajh, co-organizer. “Whether you’re a casual fan or a die-hard enthusiast, this event promises to deliver unforgettable moments, you must simply check it.”
Admission is free for fans, but officials are encouraging a donation to the North Bay Food Bank.
The NoahStrong Youth Skills Camp is lined up for Sunday morning.
Teams are playing for bragging rights, trophies and over $5,000 in cash prizes.
