$450,000 in Upgrades and Repairs to Local Community Facilities
The investment will ensure people have access to vital children and social services in safe and accessible spaces
The Ontario government is investing $450,000 for necessary building upgrades and repairs to children and social services agencies. Funding through the Partner Facility Renewal program is provided to agencies, such as shelters for women and children, homes that provide daily support for people with developmental disabilities, facilities for survivors of human trafficking, and facilities for children and youth with special needs.
“Our local children’s and social services organizations are at the heart of our community and our government is proud to invest in Nipissing District,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “By funding these repairs and upgrades, we are helping to ensure that vulnerable Ontarians can access high-quality services and supports in safe and accessible spaces.”
The following agencies are receiving funding:
· $204,100 for Children’s Aid Society of the District of Nipissing and Parry Sound
· $98,800 for One Kids Place Children’s Medical Treatment Centre of North East Ontario
· $79,100 for Community Living Mattawa
· $49,900 for Nipissing First Nation
· $17,500 for Crisis Centre North Bay
This year, 642 projects across the province are being funded to address essential maintenance and infrastructure repairs such as upgrading accessibility ramps and lifts, installing security systems and retrofitting kitchen and washroom spaces.

This support will allow us to ensure that all exits, stairs, decks and ramps are safe and accessible for women, children, and individuals with accessibility requirements. “One Kids Place is very pleased to receive approval for their infrastructure renewal in the amount of $98,743. The announcement, through the Partner Facility Renewal – Minor Capital application process will help ensure the safe upkeep and requisite renovations to OKP’s physical plant.
