76 drivers charged during North East Region OPP Festive RIDE campaign

By My North Bay Now Staff

You’re not alone if you pulled up to an OPP Festive RIDE check over the holidays.

The 12 detachments in the North East Region conducted 1,574 checks between Nov. 20 and New Year’s Day.

76 drivers were charged with a total of 128 alcohol and drug-related offences.

That’s down from 139 last year, when 50 fewer stops were made.

14 drivers had their licences suspended for a “warn” reading.

That’s a dozen fewer than last year.
