9 Impaired Drivers Charged in 23 Days in North Bay

Between January 20th and January 23rd, 2024, two females and a male from North Bay were charged in three separate Impaired Driving offences within the city.

Since the start of 2024, nine people have been charged with Impaired Driving offences in North Bay

 Just after midnight on January 20th, officers from the North Bay Police Service were called to an incident involving a vehicle lodged in a snowbank on McKeown Avenue.  A 29-year-old North Bay man was arrested at the scene for being impaired by alcohol, and was transported to North Bay Police Service headquarters, where it was determined through testing, he more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his bloodstream.  He was later released on an Undertaking with a future court date. 

 On the 22nd of January, just after 6:30 am, a 32-year-old female was arrested in the parking lot of the North Bay Regional Health Centre for being impaired by drug, after she hit a concrete barrier and a light standard.  The female was transported to North Bay Police Service headquarters, where she completed the required testing by a Drug Recognition Officer and was charged with being Impaired by Drug. She was later released on an Undertaking with a future court date. 

 On January 23rd, at approximately 7:50 am, police were called to a business on Drury Street in North Bay, in regard to a female passed out over the steering wheel of her vehicle.  Upon investigating, officers determined that the female was showing signs of impairment and arrested her for having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle while being Impaired by Drug.  The female was transported to North Bay Police Service headquarters for further testing.  At police headquarters, the female refused to complete the required testing by a Drug Recognition Officer, and was charged with Refusal.  She was also charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
