Aaltje Bos

In loving memory of Aaltje (de Jong) Bos.
December 28, 1926 to February 22, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Aly. Who left us peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, in her home, at the age of 98.
Aly was born in Holland and moved to Canada in 1953 to start a life with her husband Cornelius. With their children, they opened the doors to Birch Hill Camp in 1970. For over 55 years they welcomed hundreds of people, many of whom became lifelong friends.
Aly leaves behind a family that adored her. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 59 years, Cornelius. Dearest mother to John (Madeleine), Nancy (Mike - deceased) and Henry (Laura). Loving grandmother, Beppe, to Ashley (Matt), Amber, Victoria (Spencer), Johnny, Henry and Jessica. Great grandmother to Nevaeh, Kora, Schuyler, Charlotte, Luna, Hudson and Echo. Tante Aly will also be missed by her nieces and nephews in Holland, Rob (Jannie), Marianne (Eddy), Caroline (Teije) & Erik.
Aly was a very giving person with a zest for life, never wanting to miss a moment. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all the other children that frequented the campground.
Aly had a passion for her flower gardens, keeping them beautiful around the campground.
Aly will be missed immensely by many!
The family warmly invites friends to join them at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd., on March 15th, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in celebration of Aly's life.
A brief service will be held at 12 p.m., followed by an opportunity for guests to share their memories. Light refreshments will be provided afterwards. As per Aly's wishes, cremation has taken place.
Special thanks to Dr Jinnah and the care providers from ParaMed, especially Ryan Presse, for their compassionate care.
In memory of Aly, in lieu of flowers, donations to One Kids Place will be greatly appreciated.
