ADAMS, Amanda Erin

Amanda passed away surrounded by her loving family at her home on Monday, February 16th, 2026, at the age of 47 years. She endured a long journey with leukemia and lymphoma, bravely facing extensive treatments over the last 16 years, including chemotherapy, recent CAR-T cell therapy, and a life extending bone marrow transplant in 2016 made possible by the generosity of Chris Read. Despite the unwavering support of her devoted parents, Harry Davidson (David) & Dorothea (Dolly) Adams, these final treatments did not result in the remission we all prayed for.

Amanda will be lovingly remembered by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Lisa Adams & Brian Van Bussel, Elaina Adams & Michael Emanuel, and Angela & Scott Nicholls. She was the beloved Aunt “Manda” to six nieces: Bronwyn; Sophie and Hazel; Lillian, Stella, and Claire. Amanda will also be fondly remembered by her extended family and community, including her fellow parishioners and volunteers at St. Brice’s Anglican Church.

Amanda’s life was defined by her unwavering love for her family, her strong faith, and her treasured friendships. A devoted student throughout her life, she completed her Master’s Degree of Information and Library Science, and worked as a librarian for much of her life. She also found purpose through volunteering and giving back to her community, and found great joy in time spent with family pets, including her mischievous cat, Jasper.

The family extends sincere gratitude to Dr. Demerais, Dr. Jackson, nurses and staff at Shirley and Jim Fielding Northeastern Cancer Centre in Sudbury for their expertise and empathic care, as well as everyone on the healthcare team in Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre for the wonderful care provided.

As per Amanda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A service and reception will be held at St. Brice's Anglican Church, 1225 Cassells St, North Bay, on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, at 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Amanda may be made to the Health Science North Foundation (Northern Cancer Fund, Sudbury) and would be appreciated by her family.

Street parking along Cassells and King street will be available.
