It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Mary Adamus (née Hurley) at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the age of 89.
Mary is now reunited with her beloved husband, Don Adamus, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion. She will be deeply missed by her children, Dan (Francine) Adamus and David (Angela) Adamus; her cherished grandchildren, Carly (Joey), Kurtis, and Dana; and her treasured great-granddaughter, Addyson Boulet
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Pat (late Patti) Hurley, Marg (late Walt) Tarasick, Paul (Carol) Hurley, Bob (Michelle) Hurley, and Bill (Joan) Hurley, as well as by her cousin, Nick (Jan) Hurley, and many extended family members and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Lois Hurley (née Latondress), and by her sister, Janet Hurley.
Born in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Mary also lived in Port Credit, ON; Moncton, New Brunswick; Waterdown, ON; Lachine, Quebec; and Port Credit, Ontario, before settling in New Liskeard with her husband Don in 1966. Over the next six decades, she became a valued and active member of the community. Mary dedicated many years to the Catholic Women’s League (CWL), serving as President and contributing countless hours of volunteer service. She was also a member of the Horne Granite Curling Club and enjoyed participating in a bowling league in Haileybury.
Mary will be remembered for her kindness, dedication to family, strong community spirit, and the friendships she cultivated throughout her life.
In keeping with Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to honour her memory may make a donation to the Temiskaming Hospital Foundation, https://www.temiskaming-hospital.com, which would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
