Albert Gerald Falconi

March 25, 1941 – May 3, 2025
It is with enduring love that we share the passing of Albert Gerald Falconi on May 3, 2025, surrounded by his devoted wife, children, and grandchildren.
Born to Michele (Michael) Falconi and Anne Felice on March 25, 1941, Albert—known lovingly as Dad and Poppa/Papa—lived a life defined by family, faith, and service.
He was the devoted husband of Shirley Falconi (née Leblanc), a loving father to Michelann (Dennis), Ab (Laurie), Tim (Nora), Katrina (Kevin), and Nicola (Jamie), and a cherished Poppa/Papa to Taralyn (Ian), Ashley, Jonathon, Michael (Sarah), Christopher (Rayne), Tim (Lisa), Justine, Zack, JK, Alex, Cory, Madison, Blake, and great-grandfather to Hayden, Emily, Jude, Mila, Mateo, and Samuel. Predeceased by his dearly beloved brothers Frank (Vivienne) and Richard (Gloria) and survived by Gary (predeceased by Mary). His happiest moments were spent surrounded by those he loved, whether visits to our family home, celebrating a wedding or baptism, or sharing many an active and loud breakfast or dinner at home or at his favourite diner, Burger World. His love was infinite and unconditional, his presence peaceful and grounding, and he could most certainly keep you engaged for hours with a good story.
For over five decades, he was a pillar of our community as teacher, principal, and Deacon at the Pro Cathedral. He ministered with an open heart—offering guidance, comfort, dignity, and sacrament wherever he was called. It was impossible to walk with him anywhere without someone sharing how he had touched their lives through baptism, marriage, wedding, home/hospital visit, or celebration of life. He was always there with time, humility, and care.
Dad/Poppa/Papa was a passionate lover of music. A natural performer, he fronted the band Al and the Crescendos, opened for Ronny Hawkins and Bill Haley and the Comets, and was a lead in The Alley Cats as clarinet player and saxophonist. He never passed up a chance to dance to “Rock Around the Clock” or jam with his grandchildren.
Dad/Poppa/Papa enjoyed a big, beautiful, and fulfilling life. He lives on in the family he and Mom/Grandma created and loved, the faith he practised, and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always with us.
The Falconi family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the North Bay Regional Healthcare Centre; in particular, we recognize the Renal and D3 units for their care, compassion, and kindness during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the North Bay Regional Healthcare Centre Foundation - Renal Unit.
Visitation is Tuesday May 6, 2025 at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption from 9-12 followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm. Online condolences can be made at www.hillsidefuneral.ca
