Alice Roy

January 26th, 1946-February 1st, 2026

After a brief yet courageous battle with cancer, and with her heart set on reaching her 80th birthday, Alice passed away on February 1st, 2026. She has gone to be reunited with her beloved husband, Leo, and to finally complete that white picket fence they dreamed of together.

Alice will be deeply missed by her two sons, Rodney (Rachelle) and Shawn, and by her cherished grandsons, Zachary, Logan, Andrew, and Gavin. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Yvonne Paradis, and by her siblings: Leonard (Norma), Ivy (Tony),  Irene (David), Beatrice (Glen), Kathy and Grace (Danny). She is lovingly remembered by her surviving sisters, Yvonne (Jake) and Julie (Bob).

No matter the obstacles life placed in her path, Mom faced them head-on, constantly seeking self-improvement and selflessly putting her children and grandchildren before herself.

Mom found joy in life’s simple pleasures—an early morning coffee, keeping up with the day’s events, and never missing an episode of Days of Our Lives. A true domestic engineer at heart, she loved flipping through decorating magazines and scrolling Facebook pages, always looking for ways to make her home even more beautiful. Seeing the good in everyone, she was a trusted listener for family and friends and treasured their daily conversations.

Above all, being a grandma brought Alice her greatest happiness. Whether near or far, she loved spending time with her grandsons and hearing about their lives. From meeting them off the school bus and treating them to Grandma’s desserts, to teaching them how to ride a bike, playing SkipBo, or simply sharing a phone call to hear about their day—each moment meant the world to her.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate nurses and staff at Nipissing Serenity Hospice, as well as the Chemo and ER teams at North Bay Regional Health Centre, VON and her home care nurse Natalie.

Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to McGuinty Funeral Home. A small family gathering will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

…I wish you a joyful journey on the

train of life.

Reap success and give lots of love.

More importantly, Thank God for the journey.

Lastly, I thank you for being one of the passengers on my train.
