Allan Deschene
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Allan Deschene on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, at the age of 69. Allan passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre while surrounded by family.
Allan was the beloved father of Daniel Deschene and Andréa Demers (Ronald). His cherished grandchildren Mélodie and Philippe Demers will carry his memory with fondness.
He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Robert Deschene (Kathleen), his sister Joanne Smart, his many nephews and nieces, and his friends.
Allan was predeceased by his parents, Blanche Deschene (née Ransom) and Eddy Deschene.
Allan showed great courage and conviction in the face of his many health challenges. He was a passionate advocate for accessibility rights. His generosity touched the hearts of many. His love for his children surpassed all. They were his greatest blessing.
The family would like to thank Dr. O’Grady and Allan's homecare team for their many years of dedication and compassionate care.
In lieu of donations, people are invited to pay tribute to his memory by paying forward an act of kindness.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 24th at 3:00pm at Hillside Funeral Home, 362 Airport Rd, North Bay. Visitation begins at 1:00pm, and a gathering with friends and family will follow the service.
