AMYOTTE, Michel

AMYOTTE, Michel

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michel "Mike" Henri Amyotte (born August 231956). Michel passed quietly at Nipissing Serenity Hospice May 9th, 2026.

He will be profoundly missed by his mother Rhea Amyotte and is predeceased by his Father Reginald Amyotte and his brother Remi.

Michel will be lovingly remembered by his children, Kristopher (Karen-Anne), Danielle (David), Carolyn (Pierre), Chelsea (Forrest) and Jeremy (Kaitie). He was Pepere to Desiree, Madison, Logan, Connor, Clayton and Alex. Michel also had many fond memories of Cecile’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his spouse Cecile Carrier with whom he shared a passion for hunting and fishing. They have many fond memories of the time they spent together and could always be found either in the bush or on the water.

Michel will be greatly missed by his many brothers and sister and many in-laws. Rejean (Shery), Marquis (Jenny), Orval (Mary), Frank (Sandi), Mariline (Bruce) and Don (Karen).

Anyone who knew Michel knew how much he loved to hunt, fish and tell his stories over and over again, even if you'd heard them before. He loved to laugh and could always be found cracking jokes and playing pranks. He also liked to dance at any party and you could find him two stepping on anyone's toes that he would choose as his partner.

Cowboy, you'll be missed and forever in our hearts.

Special thanks goes out to the staff at the North Bay General Hospital and nurses Heather, Hannah and Lisa from the Nipissing Serenity Hospice for their kindness and compassion.

As per Michel’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Parish (North Bay) on Saturday May 16, 2026, at 10:30 am. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged by his family. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
