Annual nature festival takes place on Saturday

The annual Louise de Kiriline Lawrence Nature Festival takes place from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday in the Brule St. access to the woods.
Along with guided hikes and children’s crafts, there are a couple of new activities this year.
One is presented by New Adventures in Sound Art in South River, with the use of geophones and hydrophones to listen to the sounds from plants, rocks, soil, and beneath the water.
The other new event will feature Jim Rowan, a bushcraft expert, who will use natural materials to show visitors how to tie various knots and make insect repellent, fire starters, and more.
The festival has been held since 2010 and is named after Louise de Kiriline Lawrence, a midwife-nurse, author and naturalist.
