Another stunt driving charge in North Bay
City police filed their fifth stunt driving charge of the year on Sunday.
The North Bay Police Service says a vehicle was spotted travelling 81 km/h on the 1100 block of Lakeshore Drive, double the 40 km/h speed limit in a Community Safety Zone.
The vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and the driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days.

“Stunt driving and street racing put everyone at risk… especially in Community Safety Zones,” states a social media post. “Slow down. Think before you drive.”
Police say penalties for stunt driving in Ontario include:
• Immediate 30-day driver’s licence suspension
• Immediate 14-day vehicle impoundment
• Fines ranging from $2,000 to $10,000
• Six demerit points
• Mandatory driver improvement course upon conviction
• Potential long-term licence suspensions
