Answers coming Thursday to 50-year human remains investigation
The North Bay Police Service is getting set to update a historic 1975 human remains investigation.
Officials say Investigative Genetic Genealogy was successfully used to identify the individual after more than 50 years.
Further details will be announced on Thursday.
While there’s no specifics yet from police, Project Bigeye, a chronological database of Canada’s missing, has information listed on human remains found locally that year.
The data entry says male human remains were recovered near a remote logging road, northeast of North Bay, on June 3, 1975.
It also states he may have been there for 1-2 years before being found.
