Anton Frankford Carter

Anton Frankford Carter, 80, of North Bay, Ontario, passed away on Thursday September 24, 2026.

Anton is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Phyllis (Angevine), son Grant, grandsons Michael & Jesse, and sister Elizabeth (Dennis) Svestka. He is preceded in death by his sons Dennis & Michael, and his brother Douglas (Donna) Carter. The son of the late Anton and Ruth (Langille) Carter, he was raised in Westchester Station, Nova Scotia.

As a teenager he moved to North Bay and embarked on a career in accounting that lasted 50 years and 3 months. He was also a proud member of the Rotary Club. Anton enjoyed playing baseball & hockey in his youth as well as golf, fishing and hunting.

He also spent time coaching hockey and decades watching hockey as a season ticket holder for North Bay area hockey teams. Passionate yet understated, slyly humorous and quietly generous, he will be missed dearly by family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home.
