Area emergency services raise over $4,550 for CIBC Run for the Cure

Acting Deputy Chief Jeff Warner with the North Bay Police Service added manicures to his list of duties this week.
City police won the fifth annual Emergency Services Manicure Challenge, in support of last month’s CIBC Run for the Cure and the fight against breast cancer.
Along with bragging rights, Warner got to paint the nails of the other emergency service providers taking part in the friendly competition.
Over $4,550 was raised for the run, with about half raised by North Bay Police.
“It’s great to see so many members of our emergency services and community partners come together for an important cause,” says Warner. “A bit of friendly competition can go a long way.”
Other participating services this year included:
- North Bay Fire & Emergency Services, represented by Fire Prevention Officer Chris Nichol
- Anishinabek Police Service, represented by Sergeant Tyeler Commanda and Constable Nootchtai
- District of Nipissing Paramedic Service and Central Ambulance Communications Centre, North Bay Regional Health Centre, represented by Chief Stephen Kirk
