Area flood warnings extended
The Ministry of Natural Resources has extended several flood warnings for the North Bay District to Friday.
They include the Lake Nipissing shoreline, the Upper Ottawa River from Lake Timiskaming to the east boundary of Papineau-Cameron, including the town of Mattawa and the Lake Temagami area.
The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority says the warning also includes the La Vase River downstream of Lakeshore Drive, Parks Creek and the Mattawa River downstream of the Hurdman Dam.
Officials say water levels continue to decline but add conditions on Lake Nipissing could be impacted by wind.
Across the district, the MNR says a water safety statement is in place until next Tuesday.
