Area snow depth up just over 8 cm in the last two weeks
Snow depth continues to be above normal in North Bay and within the normal range in Corbeil and Chisholm.
The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) has tallied the latest snow survey data.

“The combined average snow depth is 48.8 cm and snow water equivalence is 88.7 mm at the three snow course locations,” says Angela Mills, NBMCA Water Resources Specialist. “The snowpack across the watershed is consistently powdery with a thick ice lens from previous melt and rain events.”
The latest information shows snow depth increased just over 8 cm in since Jan. 16.
A Snow Survey page is available on the NBMCA website, with more snow survey program information and this season’s measurements.
Officials say snow is measured for depth and water equivalence at three locations in the watershed.
