Attempted Murder Charge Laid in Intimate Partner Violence Investigation
followed an altercation between the accused and the victim, during which the victim was allegedly struck by the vehicle. The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) Criminal Investigations Section (CIS) has made an arrest and laid multiple charges after a person was struck by a vehicle.
The accused has been charged with the following offences:
- Attempt to Commit Murder
- Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm
- Assault
- Assault with a Weapon
- Aggravated Assault
- Fail to Stop at Accident Resulting in Bodily Harm
On Thursday, October 16, 2025, NBPS responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the Worthington Street East area. The collision followed an altercation between the accused and the victim, during which the victim was allegedly struck by the vehicle. The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“Incidents of intimate partner violence can be extremely volatile and can quickly escalate into dangerous, even life-threatening situations, as this incident demonstrates,” said Inspector McFarlane. “Our patrol officers and CIS investigators are committed to holding those responsible for such violence accountable and ensuring victims receive the protection and support they need.”
All parties involved are known to each other, and there is no risk to public safety. The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim. Given the nature of this occurrence and to ensure the integrity of the court process, there will be no further releases on this matter by the NBPS.
The accused was located, arrested, and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
