August fatal crash leads to charges for Verner resident
Charges have been filed after a fatal collision on Highway 17 west of Verner this summer.
The Ontario Provincial Police says emergency services responded to the two-vehicle crash just after 7 am on Aug. 23.
One person was pronounced deceased at the scene, while another person was taken to hospital by paramedics.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Verner resident was arrested and faces several charges, including careless driving causing death, failing to wear a seatbelt and a few firearms and ammunition-related counts.
The accused has an Oct. 3 court appearance in North Bay.
