AYOTTE, Michel
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michel Ayotte on July 19 at the age of 42.
Michel was predeceased by his father, Normand Ayotte. He is survived by his mother, Dianne Case-Ayotte; his siblings, Tina Ayotte-Charbonneau (Steve), Tanya Ayotte, Bo Ayotte, and Tiffany Lee Ayotte; his life partner, Leigh-Anne Taylor; and his beloved sons, Collyn and Jack.
He was also predeceased by his mother-in-law, Colleen Taylor, and will be remembered by his father-in-law, Jack Taylor; his sisters-in-law, Kelly Taylor Day (Mark) and Jennifer Taylor; as well as his many nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Michel was a deeply caring and loving man whose actions spoke louder than words. He showed his love through the way he cared for those around him, how he showed up in times of need, and through countless acts of service, often so quietly that you didn’t realize he had been paying attention until you needed him most. He expressed his love not by saying it, but by living it.
A dedicated and hardworking man from a young age, Michel built a career in the mining industry that took him to communities across Ontario, throughout Canada, and around the world. He possessed an incredible mechanical mind, with an instinctive ability to understand how things worked and the skill to fix almost anything.
Above all else, Michel loved his two sons, Collyn and Jack Ayotte. He worked tirelessly to give them opportunities and a life better than the one he had, and he took immense pride in the men they are becoming.
Michel was the biggest supporter of his life partner, Leigh-Anne Taylor. Whether courtside or at the ball field, he was always there, cheering her on in every athletic pursuit. Through more than two decades together, they navigated life’s joys and challenges side by side, building a life rooted in love, loyalty, and unwavering support.
Michel’s gentle, kind, and tender soul touched many lives. He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by those whose lives were made better simply by knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to an outdoor celebration of Michel’s life on Sunday, July 26, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the family property on Daly’s Road in North Bay. Guests are welcome to arrive at any time during the gathering to visit, share stories, and remember Michel together. If desired, please consider planting a tree in memory of Michel.
