The Nipissing University Lakers women's hockey team got back in the win column this past weekend, earning two victories on the road.
The Lakers used a strong defensive effort in a shutout win Friday night, before turning to the offence in Saturday's win.
Nipissing picked up a 2-0 shutout win over the Windsor Lancers to begin the weekend.
Maggie McKee and Abby Lunney scored for the Lakers, while Chantelle Sandquist made 17 saves in the victory, recording her second shutout of the season.
The next game, the Lakers picked up a big 7-1 win over the Western Mustangs Saturday night to wrap up a perfect weekend.
Melissa Svienson, Malory Dominico, Madison Desmarais, Elizabeth Laberge, Emma Thomas, Emily Lange and Madison Laberge all scored for the Lakers, while Sandquist made 37 saves in the win.
The Lakers head to Ottawa for a pair of games next weekend, facing the Gee Gees and Carleton Ravens
