They chose nine forwards, six defencemen and two goaltenders over 15 rounds.

In the first round Friday night, the Troops selected goaltender Owen Loftus of the Don Mills Flyers U16s with the 11th overall choice

Saturday saw the Battalion select 16 more players.

Of note, they include Nick Wellenreiter’s younger brother Lucas and U16 AAA Trappers’ centre Aidan Duchesne.

“We walked away feeling very pleased about how the two days turned out,” says Adam Dennis, Battalion president and director of hockey operations, in a release. “We knew coming in it was a deep draft, and we were able to fill a lot of our needs while adding some top-end players at each of their individual positions.”

Dennis adds they look forward to building relationships with each one of the players and taking part in their development.
