Battle of the Badges on the ice in Mattawa this weekend

Area emergency services are gearing up for a Battle of the Badges hockey tournament this weekend.  

Teams include the North Bay OPP, District of Nipissing Paramedic Services, and fire fighters from the Mattawa, Calvin, Papineau Cameron and Bonfield fire departments.  

Games are being played at the Mike Rodden Arena in Mattawa on Saturday.

The event starts at 2 pm.  

Along with meeting the teams and vehicle tours, there are three hockey games followed by an awards ceremony.  

Admission is a monetary or non-perishable food donation, with proceeds going to the Mattawa Food Bank.  

In North Bay, a Battle of the Badges between city police and fire fighters is set for March 21, in support of the North Bay Food Bank and Chat4Chad.
