Bay Block Party expanding with The Strumbellas to headline
We’re learning more about this year’s Bay Block Party.

Officials announced Juno-award winning Canadian band The Strumbellas are the headliners on Saturday, Aug. 22.
They also say the party is expanding to become a festival weekend.
“We’re thrilled to announce that due to popular demand, for the first time, Bay Block Party will extend to Friday night with the Pre-Party on Aug. 21,” says Hannah McCallum, Event Coordinator. “With the announcement of our headliner and that we’ll be expanding to Friday night, we are excited to open performer submissions today.”
She adds their looking to fill acts on the Main Stage, an acoustic stage and other locations at the Bay Block Party.
Performer submissions are being accepted online until March 18.
Along with local music, the free entry, all-day, and all-ages event in Downtown North Bay includes food vendors, artisans, and family-friendly activities.
Mugs for the 19+ Drink Garden go on sale Thursday, Feb. 26 at noon at bayblockparty.ca and at the Redpath Box Office at the Capitol Centre.
