Beer Store announces another area closure

It’s ‘last call’ for another area Beer Store.

The province’s largest beer retailer says its store in South River will close at the end of the day on Nov. 16.

Officials previously announced Mattawa’s beer store will be shuttered on Nov. 2, while the Noëlville store will close Oct. 19.

Powassan’s retail location closed on Aug. 24.

“Selling beer and collecting empties in Ontario is changing as part of marketplace expansion,” says Ozzie Ahmed, VP Retail.  “To meet the needs of an evolving retail market, The Beer Store is making the difficult decision to close retail locations and is committed to meeting the requirements of the Early Implementation Agreement. We know this is difficult news for consumers, recyclers and our employees.”

He adds all efforts will be made to support employees through the process.
