Betty Ann Hutchinson

Betty Ann Hutchinson

1945-2026

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of
Betty Anne Hutchinson (née Barry) in her 81st year

Betty faced her final year with quiet dignity, strength, and calm as she grew more tired by the day. She left us ever so quietly in the early evening of January 10th 2026.

Betty leaves behind her loving Husband Donald John Hutchinson of almost 59 years, who's unwavering care and companionship were the foundation of her life.

She is predeceased by her Parents Gordon and Kathreen (Diver) Barry. Also predeceased by her siblings John Barry and Rita Ball and
lovingly remembered by her brothers Francis Barry and Charles Barry.
She will be deeply missed by her children Lillian Thomas, Tammy Levesque, and Reg Hutchinson as well as her five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Before illness slowly took away her eyesight, mobility, and many of the activities she cherished, Betty lived a life rich with simple pleasures and heartfelt connections. She adored spending time outdoors, tending to her flower garden, watching her bird feeder, growing her favorite vegetables, going for leisurely drives, enjoying the camp, and filling her home with her radio turned up loud. Music remained her constant companion—whether she was singing, humming, or tapping along, she carried the spirit of a song straight into the hearts of those around her. She never needed to carry a tune to carry joy.
Even in her final year, largely wheelchair‑bound, Betty continued to embrace moments of happiness. With Don’s help, she managed a few cherished fishing trips to the dock and attended several musical gatherings in Mattawa, where her presence —gentle, warm, and full of delight— was felt by all.
Betty will be remembered for her fairness, her humor, her devotion to family, and the kindness she extended so naturally. Many of you will surely miss afternoon tea, warm conversations, braiding her hair and nails, while sharing a joke or two, and just sometimes just needing her compassionate ear. Her absence leaves a profound emptiness, but her love remains deeply rooted in all who knew her.

As per her wishes, there will be no formal service A private gathering for immediate family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, or simply honor Betty’s memory by passing along a good deed. She would be touched by that gesture.

She will be sadly missed, and forever loved.
