BISHOP, Randy Carl
Peacefully passed away at home, Thursday November 27, 2025 at the age of 71 years, after years of struggling with COPD. Randy was where he chose to be, home in his own bed. He was surrounded by the love of his family.
Randy is survived by his beloved wife Miki (nee McDonald), his son Tyler (Danielle), his grand daughter Ellanora and sisters-in-law Brenda Bishop (Wayne) and Tammy Bishop (Allan).
Also survived by father-in-law Lyle McDonald and mother-in-law Joyce McDonald. Sisters-in-law Bonnie Booker (Charles), Tina Regimbal (Rolly), Yvonne McDonald, brothers-in-law Greg McDonald (Lori) and Ken McDonald (Sylvie).
Randy is predeceased by his parents Leslie Bishop (1974) and Eileen Bishop (nee Thibodeau) (1971), his siblings Beverly Caughlin (2004) (Gary), Ron Bishop (2012), Wayne Bishop (2021), Allan Bishop (2023) and nephew Craig Bishop (1974).
Also predeceased by his mother-in-law Ruth McDonald (nee Richmond) (1992) and niece Jaimie Lee Regimbal (1988).
Randy is survived by many cherished nieces and nephews who he was very proud of. While he did enjoy teasing, maybe even tormenting them, it was his unique way of showing love, in both the Bishop and McDonald families.
Wherever Randy lived he always found a local garage, where he would hang out and quickly make new friends. This is most recently true of Chippawa Auto Repair. It’s also been said, Randy and his brother Al along with best friend Bill/Tex were the best carpet layers in our area.
Randy enjoyed being outdoors in nature. Our weekends were often busy taking the kids from our family camping and fishing. He was proud to teach his son Tyler how to fish. Randy was also excited to buy his first new snowmobile while living up north and spent hours riding it throughout the winter months.
He was an avid sportsman. In his younger years, he played hockey in Sarnia. He loved coaching his son’s softball team. He coached other community youth softball teams in the Matheson area and even coached youth hockey for a season.
Randy was a fan of professional sports, who enjoyed watching Nascar races. His favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt Sr., and Mark Martin. He was a big Boston Bruins hockey fan and celebrated his 60th birthday at a game during a family trip to Boston. He liked the Toronto Blue Jays and really enjoyed watching them make it all the way to the world series this year in 2025. He stayed awake watched every minute of the epic 18 inning game.
As per Randy and his family’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of his life at a later date. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com If desired, donations on Randy’s behalf may be given to the Salvation Army.
