Blue boxes being replaced with wheeled recycling carts

By Richard Coffin

Wheeled recycling carts are replacing blue boxes in North Bay later this spring.

The city says cart delivery begins in May, with the change-over to carts on June 1.

Officials say you won’t have to sort your recycling because all of it will go into one cart.

The system will be managed by Circular Materials, which will continue to oversee recycling collection, cart delivery, and resident support.

Recycling will still be collected every two weeks.

Officials say most households will automatically receive a 360-litre recycling cart, but residents can request a 240-litre cart.

That can be done between now and April 10 by contacting Circular Materials.

Full details, including cart options, delivery schedules, and accepted materials, are available on the Circular Materials website: https://www.circularmaterials.ca/north-bay/
