Brampton Over North Bay in OT
The Brampton Steelheads scored a 5-4 overtime win over the North Bay Battalion at Memorial Gardens on Sunday afternoon.
After North Bay erased a 3-1 deficit and took a 4-3 lead, the Steelheads evened the score and got the winner 23 seconds into the extra frame.
“It took a while for us to get going,” says Ryan Oulahen, head coach and assistant GM. “The middle part of the game, I really liked our third period. We had the game in full control and let it slip away. We’ve gotta learn that mistakes matter.”
Ethan Procyszyn scored twice for North Bay, with Andrew LeBlanc and Natan Teshome also picking up goals. It was Teshome’s first OHL goal.
The Troops lost the first game in the home-and-home set 7-2 in Brampton on Friday night.
Oulahen says it does help playing against a really good opponent back-to-back.
“We obviously were way better today than we were there on Friday night,” he says. “We’re going to have to get better because our schedule, looking ahead, the Windsor Spitfires aren’t going to take it easy on us. They’re going to be ready for us as well. We have a good week here, a couple days to lock it down a bit.”
The Battalion play in Windsor on Thursday and London on Friday.
