Brush, Robert
Robert Heywood Brush Jr., a dedicated sailor with the Canadian Armed Forces and a true gentleman, passed away on May 1, 2026, at the age of 63.
To Robert, being a sailor wasn’t just a job; it was a calling. He served his country with unwavering pride and found his greatest peace and purpose on the open water. Whether he was on deck or sharing stories of his travels, his passion for the sea and the camaraderie of his shipmates was evident to all who knew him.
Robert was defined by his integrity. He was an honest man whose word was his bond. He moved through life with a contagious, fun-loving energy, always ready with a quick joke, a booming laugh, or a helping hand for a friend in need.
An avid reader, he could often be found immersed in a gripping spy thriller, a detailed history book, or studying the mechanics and stories of great airplanes and ships of the world.
He is survived by his spouse Tausha, his children, Logan, Jessica, Austin, Nicole and Bobby, his siblings Louisa, Emma and Caroline, his mother Christine and beloved dog Naia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local SPCA in his honour.
He has stood his last watch. May he rest in eternal peace.
