Business Break-and-Enter Investigation Leads to Arrest
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) has made an arrest after a break-and-enter at a Birchs Road business resulted in about $500 worth of property being allegedly stolen.
On September 13, 2026, NBPS opened an investigation into a break-and-enter at a business in the 200 block of Birchs Road. Approximately $500 worth of property was allegedly stolen. Through the course of the investigation, police identified the accused. On September 15, the accused was located and arrested without incident. A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of approximately 0.5 grams of suspected fentanyl.
The accused, Brian Craig PARNELL, 36-year-old, male, of North Bay, has been charged with:
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Break, Enter a Place with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
“Businesses in our community belong to hard-working people who contribute to a productive and thriving North Bay,” said A/Deputy Jeff Warner. “When someone steals from a local business, they are directly impacting business owners and this has a ripple effect into the community. I want to recognize the work of our Patrol Section for diligence in identifying and locating the accused and bringing them to justice.”
The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
