Busy Easter Weekend for North Bay Police

Over the Easter weekend, the North Bay Police Service dispatchers logged 306 calls for service.

Over the Easter weekend, the North Bay Police Service dispatchers logged 306 calls for service.  Once again, 911 Hang-ups or misdials accounted for a significant number of calls, stretching resources and tying up emergency lines.  In total, between 8am Friday March 29th and 8am Tuesday April 2nd, 46 calls logged by dispatchers were 911 Hang-ups.

The public is reminded that 911 Hang-ups create extra work for dispatchers, and each one must be logged as a call for service and must be followed up with.  If you happen to misdial 911, please either remain on the line, or answer a call back from our dispatchers in order to resolve the calls quickly and efficiently.  The public can also call the non-emergency dispatch line at 705-472-1234, to resolve the call.

Other calls for service during that same time period, included a robbery on March 28th.
