The weekend was busy for the North Bay City Police, as 207 calls for service were logged from 3pm Friday February 2nd until 8am Monday February 5, 2024.
The weekend was busy for the North Bay City Police, as 207 calls for service were logged from 3pm Friday February 2nd until 8am Monday February 5, 2024.
Once again, the most common call logged by dispatchers was 911-hang-ups at 47. Each one of these 911 hang-ups requires follow up and takes time and valuable resources to resolve.
Other calls for service included; 4 Assaults, 3 Domestic situations, 7 Mental health calls,4 Motor vehicle collisions, 22 Calls for unwanted or suspicious persons, 2 Calls involving weapons, 3 Calls to assist ambulance, 4 Bail violations or breaches, 1 Arson, 5 Noise complaints, 3 Well-being checks, 3 Alarms, 2 Mischiefs
As a result of these calls for service, the following criminal charges were laid by police:
Assault (6), Assault with a Weapon (3), Threatening (2), Possession of a Controlled Substance (2), Fail to Comply (10), Arson (2), Theft (1), Criminal Harassment (1), Mischief (1), Fraud (1).
Other calls that officers attended were: family disputes, trespassing, and police assistance calls. Officers also conducted 25 traffic stops, 5 person stops and 10 property or problem area checks.
A number of Provincial Offence Notices were issued as a result of the traffic stops.
