Cache Bay couple rolling in cash thanks to Lotto 6/49

Joe and Lise Menard from Cache Bay are Ontario’s newest multi-millionaires.

The married couple of 36 years won the $34 million jackpot in the LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball draw on June 21.

Joe decided to replay numbers on non-winning tickets instead of his usual quick picks and they won big.

“We live in Cache Bay and now they’re really going to call it CA$h Bay,” he says.

The couple plans on getting their dream home and a hot rod for Joe, a retired mechanic.

They’re also going to travel across the country and make life easier for their family.

“We can go where we want, we can do what we want with our kids, with our family,” says an emotional Lise. “Somebody needs something we will be there to help.  Our family will be taken care of.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Arrowhead Gas Bar on Osprey Miikan Road, Nipissing First Nation.
