The City is seeking artwork that reflects the spirit of North Bay through themes of culture, sports, recreation, outdoor life, teamwork, movement, and community pride. The successful artist will paint their selected design directly onto a primed feature wall inside the centre.
“This mural will become a defining feature of one of North Bay’s most significant community projects in recent years,” said Councillor Justine Mallah, a PAAC member. “The new Community and Recreation Centre is a space built to bring people together for generations to come, and this artwork will help reflect the spirit, pride, and identity of our community.”
The call for submissions is open to local and regional artists and creative professionals. An artist fee of $3,500 will be awarded to the successful applicant.
Submissions will be accepted until Friday, June 26, 2026. Applicants are asked to follow the submission checklist and requirements outlined in the official guidelines document.
Proposals will be reviewed by a jury through the City’s PAAC.
