Canada Summer Jobs
Area employers looking to create summer jobs for youth next year can now apply for federal support.
Canada Summer Jobs is accepting applications until 11:59 pm on Dec. 19.
Along with the public sector, the program is open to private sector employers with 50 or fewer full-time employees and non-profit organizations.
In the spring, MP Anthony Rota announced there were more than 240 summer job opportunities in Nipissing-Timiskaming this year.
The feds say a summer job plays an important role in a young person’s life, putting money in their pockets and allowing them to learn new skills, build confidence, and explore career interests.
Employers can learn more and apply on the federal government’s website.
Full-time jobs will become available starting on April 21, 2025.
