Canada Summer Jobs program accepting applications until Thursday night
The deadline is coming up this week for employers, non-profits and others to get involved in the Canada Summer Jobs program.
MP Pauline Rochefort previously announced 137 employers in Nipissing-Timiskaming hired 260 students for summer jobs last year, thanks to $1 million from the Canada Summer Jobs program.
Applications are being accepted until 11:59 pm on Dec. 11.
Officials say Canada Summer Jobs provides wage subsidies to support employers in creating quality summer work experiences for youth aged 15 to 30 years.
Not-for-profit employers can receive funding for up to 100% of minimum wage while public and private sector employers are eligible to receive funding for up to 50%.
