Canadore grad aiming for the podium in para-archery
Canada’s only para-archer at the Paralympics in Paris has a connection to North Bay. Kyle Tremblay is a Canadore College alumnus.
He placed 4th in the preliminary heat on Thursday and advanced with a 140-135 win in Friday's round of 16 elimination heat.
The 33-year-old from Deep River, is back in action for another elimination round on Sunday, Sep. 1. The winner advances to the quarterfinals.
The Canadian Paralympic Committee says at the Parapan Am Games in November 2023, Tremblay hit a bullseye in the shoot-off to win the bronze medal match in the men’s individual compound open in Para archery.
This year he helped Canada to the team gold at the 2024 Pan Am Para Archery Championship and added an individual bronze.
As of June, Tremblay is ranked 12th in the world in the event.
