CANTIN, Richard Joseph

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard Cantin on February 27, 2025, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 82, following a brief illness. Richard was the beloved husband of Colette (nee Martel) and loving father of Kelly Cantin, Kerry DiPasquale, daughter in law Colleen as well as stepfather to Carol Nieman (Chris) and Danny Pelland (Rosanne). Also left to mourn his passing are grandchildren Ryan and his daughter Jadzia, Katrina, Justin, Kyle and Jamie, step grandchildren Josh, Brianne, Brittany, Jordan and Bradley along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends near and far. 

Richard was predeceased by his son Christopher Cantin, sisters Colleen Masson, Collette Hudson, Joanne Holtz and Judy Ling. He was also predeceased by his parents Ernest and Isabelle Cantin. 

Richard was employed by Praxair for 46 years, servicing many hospitals throughout Northern Ontario before retiring in 2009. He and Colette shared many years of happiness together, travelling to various places before settling in Warren. No matter where they went, they made many friends along the way. 

As per Richard ‘s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration will occur later in the spring. Interment will follow at Callander Union Cemetery.
