“Canadore College is incredibly proud of the creativity demonstrated by its students,” said George Burton, President and CEO. "This annual showcase provides an excellent opportunity for students to display their accomplishments. I commend their dedication, hard work, and innovative spirit."

Students and faculty have dedicated over 6,000 hours of professional services to local community organizations and businesses during the last school year.  Here are some of the experiential learning opportunities our students engaged in this year:

·        Graphic Design students provided over 1,300 hours toward industry projects with Ontario Northland, Voyageur Airways, Canadore College, and several local start-ups including designing the City of North Bay’s centennial logo.

·        Broadcasting – Television and Video Production students contributed over 4,500 hours to community events such as the North Bay Police and Fire charity hockey game, Battalion home games, and the Remembrance Day ceremony.

·        Acting for Stage and Screen contributed over 100 hours to local theatre productions including the Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre, Gateway Theatre Guild, and On The Edge Fringe Festival.

·        Recording Engineering – Music Production students managed live sound for the Christmas telethon and local music venues, contributing hundreds of hours to these events.

·        Digital Cinematography students contributed over 1000 hours on local film productions.

“The Gala is a testament to our commitment to innovation and showcases the boundless creative potential of our students.” said Colin Williams, Dean of the Schools of Art, Design, and Entrepreneurship. “It highlights the ingenuity that emerges when students from across acting, film, music, design, and media productions come together, proving that creativity thrives when disciplines unite.”

"For media students, the Gala is always a fun and exciting event,” said Jorja Harper, 3rd year Digital Cinematography Student.  “We have our Film Expo where we get to show off all the cool gear we've been using on our film projects, in our third and final year."
