Celebrating the life of Bob Wood

Celebrating the life of Bob Wood

By Richard Coffin

The community is gathering to remember Bob Wood on Saturday.

A Celebration of Life is taking place in the Canadore College education centre gym from 1-4 pm.

“This event will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and the community to honour, celebrate and share our memories of Bob,” says Carol Wood.

Wood passed away April 12 at Nipissing Serenity Hospice, with his family by his side.

“While most people knew him as a radio personality and/or politician, others knew Bob for his acts of generosity, as giving back has been his way of life,” reads his obituary. “Bob’s ‘support local’ mindset stretched far. For years, he took on the role of “secret Santa” and would bless families with Christmas meals and gifts, unaware that it was from Bob.”

Bob Wood was 85.
