Centennial mural to adorn trail tool shed

Trail-related groups will have access to specialized trail tools thanks to a provincial grant.
The $66,000 Ontario Trillium Foundation money was announced last year and supported a number of initiatives, including staffing, trail maintenance equipment, and the launch of the Trail Stewardship Program.
“By sharing tools and equipment, this program allows groups to have access to specialized trail tools without the added expense of purchasing their own. It’s a practical way to strengthen collaboration, reduce barriers, and make every volunteer hour count.”
Officials with the Discovery Routes Trail Organization say the new tool shed will be decorated with a mural by local artist Corbin Elliot, celebrating 100 years of trail volunteers.
“Congratulations to Discovery Routes on this project and the incredible work they do promoting the use and development of trails and active transportation,” says Mayor Peter Chirico. “We’re pleased to support this new mural through the City’s Centennial Legacy Projects Fund. It’s a wonderful way to honour their efforts and 100 years of community spirit in North Bay.”
